Situated in a popular and fashionable location fronting Carlow Street and Miller Street, just off of Camden High Street, Carlow House is a landmark 47, 941 sq. four-storey warehouse-style building with a striking white façade, internal courtyard and large industrial windows.

Although burnt in 1933 the remaining towers and turrets, mostly ivy clad, give this enchanting structure a fairy tale air. The present castellated house is the result of additions and alterations of many periods it’s nucleus being the tower house.

Guided tours feature visits to the Gardens and the Temple of Isis, conducted by Miss Olivia Robertson, the well known artist and writer.

The country also has some fine period houses to visit such as Borris House, which can trace its ancestry back to the High Kings of Ireland and Dunleckney Manor, dating from the 17th century.

Each year sees the county hosting Carlow’s Floral Festival Trail and there is also the Carlow Garden Trail, featuring over 16 garden attractions including the OPW managed Altamont Garden, Duckett’s Grove and Hardymount Gardens to name but a few.
