Start C textbox1 validating

C textbox1 validating

In my windows form projects , i have validated the fields using Boolean method.

Actually i am trying to enter to amount in the textbox.

If other than integer is entered in the textbox , it should say " please enter integer value ". ( With out using try catch block) Thanks in advance or you could use the numericupdown control :) The code here is worth checking for the future if you need to validate string entries, but for numeric values the Numeric Up Down control is much better.

Add controls as shown in the figure below and set the properties of the controls as indicated in the table. The control is added to the form and displayed in the control tray in the Windows form in Design view. Now we will add the validations for the Date Time Picker controls which collects the Test Date information.

Net, you can drag and drop the control from the toolbox. Please refer to the code listing provided at the end of the article.

To display the dataset column error, invoke the Set Column Error method of the Error Provider.

In a Win Form I'm doing initial validation in the Form. To make the code short only three fields are shown in the code.

Invoking the Set Error method of the Error Provider control displays an error indicator image next to the control specified as the first argument to the the Set Error method.

The string specified in the second argument in the function invocation is displayed as the tooltip when the mouse is moved over the Error indicator.

When the user enters data in the controls which fails validation, a blinking error image is displayed on the form next to the control and the error message is displayed as a tooltip to the error image.

You can display multiple error indications on a form at the same time using the same Error Provider control.

So before saving data, I want to validate whether all the required fields are filled (Text Boxes) by the user. I would rather use a generic function that would be passed each control on the form and based on the type of the control, separate validation logic would be written.
