8 simple rules of dating my teenage daughter trailer

8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter may have only been on for three seasons, but it was funny and touching enough to stay in our hearts many years later.

Cate’s father, a man in the middle of his own divorce crisis, Jim Egan (James Garner), moves in to help his grieving daughter and grandchildren adjust to their new life.

So, when his wife Cate (Katey Sagal) returns to work as a full-time nurse, Paul decides to quit his job, begin running the household, and to start to “take care of the kids.” The problem is that they aren’t still the adorable little children that he remembers; they’re a trio of independent teenagers — beautiful and popular Bridget (Kelly Cuoco); sarcastic middle child Kerry (Amy Davidson); and Rory (Martin Spanjers), the scheming and smart-alecky younger brother.

Feeling overwhelmed and missing his days as a sports columnist, Paul begins writing a column from home about his struggles as a stay-at-home parent and to offer advice to others who are experiencing the same challenges.

Tragically, John passed away during the show's filming, but his influence clearly lived on in later seasons.

It goes without saying that we were all fortunate to have a few final moments of John doing what John did best, and that's just one of the things that made 8 Simple Rules a standout.

Even as a kid, I always found it so funny that Kerry was considered the "plain but smart" daughter when, in reality, Amy Davidson is clearly a stunning individual.

Since 8 Simple Rules wrapped, she's appeared in small roles on popular TV shows like c CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, House M. She and Kaley Cuoco still appear to be good friends, even going on vacation together back in July!

In honor of John and his lasting legacy, let's take a look at what the cast of 8 Simple Rules has been doing since the show wrapped 10 years ago.
